And Another Thing! has a great run down of today's game.

I call again on Jim Hendry to release Rey Ordonez (who was forced into action today when Ramon Martinez sprained his ankle trying to beat a relay throw, on which he was called out, though replays indicated he was probably safe), and replace him with... well, anyone. Benji Gil. Ricky Gutierrez. Walter the scorecard vendor who sells me my scorecards. ANYONE.

Hehe what about Brendan Harris? I know, I know he was filling in at 3rd base. Sure would of been nice to see what he could of done in 6 weeks with A-gonz being out. Instead we found out Rey Ordonez stinks and Ramon Martinez is OK, but nothing special. In other words about what we expected.

Speaking of Harris he looked good at the plate today. I really like when he went down 0-2 in the count and battled back to draw a walk. And for that reward, we probably wont see him play the rest of the year. You know how Dusty likes to reward his younger players if they perform well, we dont see them for weeks at a time. Dusty can't have Brendan Harris getting his average over .250 that would take time away from Rey Rey, Macias and Martinez! Better to not play him, keep his average at .222 in 10 AB's, demote him and call his stint with the team a failure by saying he just wasn't ready.

And no I wont shut up about Rey Ordonez and Macias until they are where they belong. In a mexican intructional league talking about how they were once great MLB players and if you can learn from us, maybe some day you can have the same big league success we had.

"Now little Jose let me show you how to swing like a pro," Rey Ordonez says as he picks up a bat and steps in to face the 12 year old pitcher for the team.
