On a lighter note, the injury bug got tired of attacking our players and turned on Dusty Baker instead.

With two outs in the ninth inning, Jose Macias fouled off a ball that slammed into Baker in the dugout. The ball narrowly missed Moises Alou, who was in the on-deck circle waiting to pinch-hit.

Actually, I think this was the baseball gods just trying to slap some sense into Baker. Down to your last AB, Baker lets auto out Macias hit knowing we just need 1 run to tie the game. Alou should of been batting for Macias.

The only reason Baker would let Macias hit for himself is that he was betting that Jose and his .260 OBP might be able to get on base by some act of god, and Moises Alou would stroll to the plate and hit a HR to win the game. Why not just try for the HR with Alou and just tie the game instead of putting your faith in Jose Macias?
