Rey Ordonez pouts off into obscurity.
But rather than agree to talk about his contributions to the Cubs' soggy success, Ordonez decided that he was too good to talk to the Chicago media.
"Nobody's been to my locker to talk to me in a month, so no talking today," he said before disappearing into the night.
There has been absolutely nothing to talk to Ordonez about since the Cubs added him in late May to shore up a roster that is still missing shortstop Alex Gonzalez (broken hand).
Meanwhile old Rey Rey starts and Brendan Harris hasn't seen 1 AB since being called up. It's always nice to send that message to your prospects.
You know we would play Brendan Harris but our best option is a .143 hitting SS. Sorry Brendan your just not good enough to get starts over him. Maybe you will have better luck getting playing time with another franchise like Cruz, Choi, and Hill.
Ahh but they save the best for last in the article
If shortstop Ricky Gutierrez can continue to play well at Class AAA Iowa, Ordonez will be on a short leash anyway -- perhaps expendable sooner or later. Gutierrez knows how to hit, field and be a good guy all at the same time. Imagine that, Rey.
The only thing I can agree with is that Gutierrez is a good guy, other than that Rickey is just Rey Rey version 2.0. Neither one of them deserve playing time in the majors.
